With all the economic doom and gloom of late, from household charges to emigration, it’s always refreshing to hear about a local business in our own community that is thriving despite the difficult conditions. Kinbark Products is a family-run garden centre located just outside Camolin village in Co. Wexford. Like every business, Kinbark has been affected by the downturn, however with 25 years experience behind them, the team at Kinbark seen this as an opportunity for redesign rather than recession.
Using completely recycled materials, a little bit of imagination and a lot of hard work this small business created a new nursery in place of the existing. For example, during the bad weather in early 2011, one of the company’s sheds completely fell through due to a heavy fall of snow; the same shed now builds the roof of the new nursery. An unused portacabin and an old stove now make the beautiful new office, while a mature Birch divides the reception in a spectacular design from the floor to the roof. Kinbark Nurseries was officially launched on March 19th and proved to be a great success, with both new and old faces turning out to support the family business in its new venture.
Kinbark Products provide plants, shrubs and flowers for gardens of all sizes and stock everything you need frombedding plants, vegetable plants, herbs, shrubs, flowering plants, perennials etc. Not only is the nursery a haven for garden lovers but it has also proved extremely popular with nature lovers alike. Situated in the foothills of Sliabh Bhui and at the edge of a river running through the family home’s landscaped grounds, it makes for a wonderful day just exploring the many walks and spotting the local wildlife also.
As well as this, they are experts in mature trees and have a huge range of all sizes that can turn every space into a leafy retreat. Kinbark is also a supplier of high quality bark mulch and manufacture their famous organic compost on site that will help any garden bloom.
